Users perform all functions with PDMWorks Enterprise either through Windows Explorer or one of its other integrations. Through this functionality, users across the enterprise can readily manage files and collaborate more effectively throughout the product lifecycle.

 

What document types does PDMWorks Enterprise manage?

PDMWorks Enterprise is capable of managing all document types including, Microsoft Office documents, images, animations, PDF, and CAD documents.

 

What CAD packages does PDMWorks Enterprise support?

PDMWorks Enterprise offers full management, including reference management of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor and Solid Edge.

 

How does PDMWorks Enterprise help AutoCAD users manage 2D and 3D drawings?

PDMWorks Enterprise offers full management of all AutoCAD and Inventor documents including view and print capability as well as automatic attribute management. The reference management system supports Autodesk DWG, Autodesk Inventor as well as SolidWorks and Solid Edge file formats. PDMWorks Enterprise is fully compatible with the Autodesk file formats.

 

What languages are supported?

PDMWorks Enterprise supports the following languages: Japanese, English, French, Polish, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Czech and Brazilian Portuguese.

Can PDMWorks Enterprise be used on a WAN (Wide Area Network)?

Yes, it is possible to connect PDMWorks Enterprise clients via a WAN and share a central PDMWorks Enterprise installation.

 

What is the required bandwidth for PDMWorks Enterprise to work across the WAN?

We recommend a minimum of at least 512 KB/Sec. Note that the required bandwidth is dependent on the document size and numbers of active users connecting via the WAN.

 

How does PDMWorks Enterprise support users that work remote or are disconnected?

PDMWorks Enterprise supports working connected to a LAN and while disconnected using the off-line mode. Additionally, remote users may utilize a web client to connect to a file vault via the Internet.

 

Do you have a programming language?

Yes, using the in-built COM based programmers API, both stand alone programs interacting with PDMWorks Enterprise and add-ins can be programmed in Microsoft .NET or C++ programming language. Add-ins are user defined programs that can be loaded into PDMWorks Enterprise. These add-ins can be made to trigger once an operation is started in PDMWorks Enterprise, for instance a status add-in can be triggered when the status of a document is changed from waiting for approval to approved.

 

How much does the API cost?

The PDMWorks Enterprise API is an open programming language available to all end-users of PDMWorks Enterprise as part of the product purchase price.
